Latest Kat 1000 project
Re: Latest Kat 1000 project
In two weeks I hope to have all the fixings back from the metal finishers, I have gone for zinc and clear. I may also have the engine back by then. I need fork seals and dust seals then I can crack on and start building the old girl. I have a goal for this to be one of the nicest Kat 1000s in the UK. With only 7000miles and one previous owner it has a good start.

I'm keen to get the tyres fitted, before I can do that I need to get the discs fitted, before I can do that I had to paint them. Painting wasn't to bad as my pal Brian McCall had vapor blaster them. I'm really pleased with the outcome.

I haven't sorted the locking tabs because I haven't torqued the nuts.

I love this stage of the build, with a stock bike build every time I go to fit something it fits
it's really pleasing.
When it's a special its much more time consuming, its still very rewarding.
My pal Dave Trickey came over on Sat so the two of us chilled in the garden. I thought we might as well put the forks together.
