Re: skellys kat rebuild
Ok.
After boggling with 43mm fork permetations I decided to plump for some ZRX1200 ones.
The reasons were fairly simple.
They are the right size and length.
They have a relief for a mechy speedo drive.
I wanted to keep the exup yokes as they have a decent offset (less trail)
Also wanted to keep the exup front wheel as I like it and it matches the rear and I have 2 sets.
All I had to do was make some adaptor bushes to get the wheel central.
I counterbored the r/h one to hold the steel spacer for the oil seal n stop it falling out when refitting the wheel.
Just need to slot it so it clamps on the spindle n job done.

Ok.
Selector drum & forks fitted with new bearings.
Also I have managed to build a very decent gearbox with lots of unworn parts from an excellent one I got from D&K in Stoke.
I used an EFE output shaft as it was mint and its slightly longer.
Placed the cases together and it shifts great so I'm feeling pretty happy.

The postie delivered pair of ZRX1200 wheels with mint discs. Sprocket. Spacers. Speedo drive and tyres yesterday so I thought I'd stick em in and see whats what.
Same rear spindle size so thats no problem.
10mm off the L/H spacer to get the wheel central and then discovered that my EXUP caliper bracket would hold the caliper half way off the disc.
The ZRX disc is smaller than an EXUP one.
Luckilly I had an FZR600 bracket that was a bit shorter so I bored out the end from 17 to 20mm and it all fits perfect against the original R/H spacer and holds the caliper exactly where it should be.
Cool.
Not quite sussed the front end yet.
The good thing is that the big f**k off chunky spindle fits great and the wheel sits nicely.
However due to using EXUP yokes the fork legs are 3mm closer together.
I'm gona have to modify the speedo drive and spacer slightly.
I have posted a pic as I rekon the black wheels look better than the gold ones.
