Re: PHAT! EFE!
Gareth, Been thinking about this, you could get Bandit forks, then Bandit 1200 rear wheel and then have like wide glide yoke made to suit the efe frame, he would also need to make spacers to mount the discs in the correct place. well in fact you'd just have a single disc.

Im liking your ideas Gareth.
I had in the past toyed with a 190 front end and a 330 rear with outside chain drive. But I was made an offer for the 12.5x17 split rim and 330 tyre that I couldnt refuse.
Im slowly collecting parts for 240 rear end for an EFE. Ive got a wheel (8x18)tyre's ,240's,a swingarm,a frame, bodywork and engine, forks and brakes... Actually, that sounds like Ive all the parts.
One of my good mates has used bike rear wheels in the front of more than one bike if you need any help?

Gareth, depending on what size back end you go for, keep an eye open on egay. Ive bought about half a dozen 240 tyres, all very cheaply,Ive bought a few 8x18 new old stock car wheels for very little (one was a brand spankers VW 18 inch one for £3.58!(plus postage
). It doesnt need to cost a lot!
Ive lost a load of pics from my photof*ckit account, but here's one i did a while back. I can only find some of the build pics,as a load of pics vanished for some reason?
I hope you dont mind me sharing these. This is the £3.58 wheel with a £10 tyre,a chinese wavey pit bike (or similar?)disc (£10)and a few pieces of alloy that I had to machine to make hubs etc. I used aprillia rubber cush drive bits (tenner egay)and a good few hours of my time.
I think the wheel conversion came in at probably less than £70-80,most of that being greedy bast*** postage charges from egay sellers.

Inboard disc (with a suzuki disc)

Partly made sprocket carrier.

Etc etc... but hopefully you can get the idea, fat doesnt need be expensive! Unless your very rich of course and your able to buy Taylormade wheels...

A little update i just purchased a pair of seats grab rail back light and seat trims photos to come soon!
Dixie i like the idea of using a car wheel! I would make a spacer to fill the gap though! It looks too bare!

lol,it did have a billet spacer, the pic was just at the mock up build stage. I seem to have lost a load of pics from Photof***it,so cant show you the finished item.
If you fancied going really mad,Ive a new 3 piece split rim,10x17,with a brand new 300 section tyre going spare.
Im building a (
)chop, and im using split rims at each end. The rear is as above,a 10x17 and the front is getting the split rim I had in the rear of my EFE project. Im not a fan of chops, but Ive started it,I have a fair bit of money in it,so need to finish it to sell. Its being turbo'd as well.
But Im sorry to say,its not air cooled or even old. Its one of them new fangled oil cooled suzuki engines.
They'll never catch on.

Going back to the car wheel in the kwak. I made the disc an inboard one (hence the space). I was just using old "shit" that was in my scrap alloy dept. If I had had a big enough lump of alloy,I would have made a hub that filled the gap, with the disc/caliper etc spaced out from the wheel centre, next to the swingarm.
The chop im busy with has a "proper" hub (disc side)that is approx 7 inch long. The sprocket side will have a hub/sprocket carrier that will be approx 4.5/5 inches wide, filling the wheel centre's nicely. The only downside with this is the cost of the materials.
Ive just spend £80 on a round bar of aluminium!
Oh,and by the way,I use Laverda/MV augusta or simialr individual piece cush drive rubbers. Round poly bushes can be used too I guess? This gives you a smoother transmision which isnt harsh on your gearbox bearings. I know about things like that as I used to run Dymags with no cush drive!
Im waiting on some parts for the leccy power feed for my milling machine, once they arrive (
)it will be full steam ahead. Six inch wide 3 spoke wheels are so last year darlings....
Unless fitted in the front end...
