My EFE make over.
Re: My EFE make over.
Sounds like a plan bud. Fbm is only 30 miles from me.

On the draw thru kit front, the set up has been made for a gsxr/bandit.

If you go to FBMs feel free to pop here for a brew. Peterborough. I know Tom aswell. He is at the Dragon rally this weekend. Pedda once told me that bandit exhausts might fit gsx motors. He has done it but needed two gaskets

As ever,im going to go slightly off track here. Ive been looking thru my photobucket account for aircooled pics of course and came across a project that I was busy with a while back, but it his disaster, which I'll explain.
I was doing a gsxr engined zed, which i was liking the style of,short, stumpy with potential, even if it wasnt a suzuki.

The frame had been widened at the swingarm pivot to take a (
)Kawasaki zrx swingarm which id modded to take zx12r swingarm extensions. The front end had a USD set of forks, just the typical fighter type of thing. I made the fatal mistake of looking at loads of pics of Spondon's etc and thought about modding the frame. So I did.

Just at the point where I was more of less ready to remove the kawaski frame cradle,I had this funny thought? Where the V5 for this?? I dont know why I thought about this but I did.
Off to the bike doc folder to have a look, and low and behold,no V5 for the zed frame.
So this is for me where disaster struck. Id wasted my time and stopped work on it.

ETC etc with the pics....
However, getting back on track,Ive a spare EFE frame collecting dust. Do you think the same mods would look cool or rubbish on an EFE frame??? Bend some tubes, and cut the bottom frame section out to make a semi-spondon-harris style bike? Not in the same league, but similar in a style similar to the big CC spondon Kat from a few years back. One of my fave bikes ever.
Answers on a post card please?

Yes,thats the one thing I had thought of,would round tube look odd against box section. Oh well, maybe when I get a GS or similar, when I grow up.

I wish my turbo kit was here.
Im like a kid at Christmas, excited to get my presents. I swopped a nitrous kit a few months back for a gsxr vance and hines drag exhaust system,I wish maybe Id kept it. Nitrous and turbo.....I wish!
On the draw thru turbo front, does anybody know if I'll need to add a fuel pump to the bike? Im sure somebody said gravity would work, but Im also sure somebody else said you need a pump?
Also,I suppose I could do with a larger fuel tap? I had a pingel one,but cant find it anywhere? Does anybody have any ideas on fitting larger fuel taps? Ive a spare late model GPZ11 tank in the shed, with a much bigger fuel outlet, would that be better than the 125 sized standard EFE one??

i run mine at 6 PSI on gravoty feed with both lines from a twin outlet pingle.....
but am cautious of letting the tank level get below 1/2 way....
may fit a pump and fuel reg this year cus 6 PSI is so yesterday...............

I think I might have a look for a fuel pump and a large fuel outlet. I was tempted to weld an 8mm outlet pipe from the base of the tank, but I figure Id need some sort of fuel cut off in case I needed to remove the tank. Some thought needed on this? Ive been busy with paint on two petrol tanks ,both of which have welded in outlet pipes,I shall speak to the owners and see what they say? Otherwise I need a hi flow tap.
