My EFE make over.
Re: My EFE make over.
Having looked at Gixernicks build,im ready to give in before
Ive even made a start.
Because Im busy with other things,i can only really imagine what my ideas are at the moment.
One thing I was thinking about was to change the swingarm.
I dont know why the typed lines are like this by the way?
Old shed built arm.

It works OK,but i fancy an xjr12/13,gsx14 swingarm with extensions. Ive a spondon extended arm,but I want that for something else.
I shall for the time being sit and stare at these 2 pics for inspiration.

My fave gsx of all time.

Ive just sold a z1000r dragbike project (raked framed)with a lengthened GSX14 arm,so I know with extensions they can look err..long.

That swingarm came from a gsx1400 turbo dragbike,it had the rear of the tank sliced away, but i cant find a single picture of it anywhere?? I wonder if anybody knows anything about it??

I mentioned some fave bike buiding names on gixernicks thread, heres a link to check out. If you should need inspiration. I know before anybody starts what they are gonna say,but check the quality out,not the name on the tank.

Ive got to admit,i dont always go mad over the finished article, but the quality of the workmanship is super cool.

The next couple of days or so are being taken up with xmas shopping.
Its very frustrating. Ive just bought a new big blast cabinet,as I was fed up with the old one,ive all my paint supplies, and Im eager to get some paint done now. Bloody Christamas and shopping!
With the new blast cabinet,i will be able to bare metal tanks and and when needed. Heres a link to one from ages ago, back to the metal.

I know the tank I fancy using has had a bump in the side,as I repaired it about 13 years ago,so if i blast it,it'll be interesting to see whats underneath the paint? Its so long back that I painted it,I honestly cant remember exactly what i did?

Ive not even looked inside!.
I tend to use brick cleaner to remove rust from the inside of tanks,so it will be interesting to see whats what? Ive 3 tanks.
Im sure I'll be able to do something with them.
If for some reason they tanks are too bad to rescue, which I doubt,Id run them thru the bandsaw, slice them into two,so they could be painted and mounted on the wall's as a substitute for a picture.
A mate of mine has just opened a motorbike tyre shop in Northumberland, his walls would be a good place to put them. But I hope not.
ive other tanks to cut up and paint for his shop. Not aircooled suzuki ones!

Im finally thinking about making a proper start on an EFE (or two!). Ive been messing with chopper things, which I thought were cool when I started, but to be honest, they just arent really me. Im not going to say that I wont have a chop for myself for the occasional sunday blast, but its not going to be soon.
Ive been very lucky to buy a complete draw thru turbo kit from ace turbo guru FBM,which has come from his gsxr engined gsx et. Im not going to hurry myself (as if?.....),but todays thoughts are of an EFE engined EFE,and (
)a gsxr11 turbo' engined EFE too. So that will be 2 GSX's.
The EFE engined one should come first in line.
Im busy doing a few jobs for mates, which Im hoping to have done within the week or so,then time will be mine again, and work can start.
Watch this space.

They can.
£320 plus vat for a 3.5x17 3piece split rim for the front. Ive already got myself a 7x17 one.
The £320 might look expensive, but compared to what youd pay at the likes ot Talormade wheels, its a steal. I figure I could get a pair of new wheels from Imagewheels for less than what youd pay for one from the vmax man. The only problem is,i dont like any of the styles of wheel they do.
But they will do one off stuff at an extra cost.
I havent told the mrs yet that Ive bought a turbo kit from FBM,so need to tread carefully.
Im planning on trying to get parcel deliveries for when she's out shopping!
