Have we got dyno bench experts on here?

This is what my Kat pressed onto the roll today:

135,8 hp with 110 Nm

Specs:
1230cc EFE engine
ported head
Stage 1 web camshafts
RS 38 carbs
K&N oval pods

When I shut the throttle the engine always needs half a second to get back to idle.

Comments welcome.

Hi Pedda, weldone on the big power, you must be happy with that, with regards to the RS38" carbs I ran them for a few years on my trick efe,. I loved the noise and the look, you have to get used to shutting the throttle quickly with your hand. In the end I changed mine a month back for Bandit 1200 carbs. To be fair I think as a road going carb the CV ones are better, more friendly, IMHO.

Yep decent power is that...

if that is just a power run in 4th it might be worth just seeing what the fuelling is like at very low throttle opening RS flatties as with any carb need a lot more setting up than injected stuff. Running over on shut off usually means it's running lean or the throttles are sticking (weak springs/one spring used instead of 2 to try and lighten them). Looks pretty good though.

Thanks guys,

The dyno runs have been made in 5th gear. The carbs are run with a push-pull-assy to make sure they always shut securely. I already did some tweaking on the mixture screws butt no joy. I think I'll check for air leaks once again and start from zero.

Pedda,

If you can't find an air leak and you have adjusted the air screws (max 2.5 turns - out ) and there is no significant change then you might have to increase the size of the pilot jet. I believe that a 17.5 jet is installed in your carbs.
