How to hints and tips

I will start with a couple of simple things, if you have an easier way, mention it. For the oil window, have the painted surface facing you and push away. I used two sockets, one that fitted tightly against the glass and a larger one at the back, set them in the vice and tightened, it don't take hardly any pressure to remove them. It's one of them jobs you need to do if your powder coating the cases like I am.

some of you probably do rebuilds etc very regularly, some won't this is aimed at them I guess. This one is how to remove your barrels. I have seen barrels totally mashed to bits cos people rush it. Remember these barrels could of been sat in the same position for 20 + years, with salt, grime etc flying through the fins, most of the head studs are exposed to grim, salt, etc, it builds up a corroded sort of surface and glues the barrels to the studs. So I always remove the studs first, then the barrel comes of with a couple of taps. I just use two nuts screwed to each other, if you get a tight stud, go in and out several times and chill, then they may not snap. Good luck.
