Need some help please people! I have been wrestling with the carbs and standard airbox on my EFE this evening and am buggered if I can get them on. I had been told it was hard work but is there some sort of knack to this or tip on how to do it?

Pod filters and a little rejetting , much easier than trying to refit the standard air box
Best place for the standard air box is the rubbish bin :o

Hello Fluff. They are a pain but not that bad :-) are the rubbers all brittle. To e honest wben i do a bike up i replace both sides on mine. After 25 plus years they cant have long left. At least replace the air box ones. Are you near Roger uppertons? I hope to be at his os sat to drop engine stuff. If your not much further could pop to help. But order them air box side rubbers

Rubbers arent too bad. I might try renovating them as per the article in PS a couple of months ago.I am about 45 minutes from Rogers but I might be taking delivery of Kev's E on Saturday :-D You are welcome to pop in for a brew though, its not far out of your way if you come up the A1. Cheers

buy/find/borrow a VS 800 Intruder, remove and install the carbs from that POS, after that everything else is easy.

take the mounting bolts out of the back section as well and dont forget the bracket at the bottom

so you can move that part back and up a little....

put a flat strip off steel on the filter side of the carbs to help them slide easier as the go in from the side

its tight but can be done with care

Fluff, I've attached a 'how to', compliments of AT Blackcat (Pete Matthews).
Don't sue me for breach of copyright Pete, I'm on me pension!!! ;)
