Im not really sure this falls in technical,but it does help with a way of cheaply cleaning your engine.
If you have a decent power washer (you do need a decent one,not a £20 aldi one),get yourself a sand blasting attachment (£20-30)and a bag of sand.
Block up all the holes on the engine,a kitchen wooden rolling pin is good for this by the way,and get cracking. You might need some wellies too.
Ive a pic of an engine done this way by my mate. Sorry its not a suzuki engine,but until I get blasting myself,it'll have to do!
The process works absolutely fantastically leaving a finish as good as new.


Get your mates involved and do a few engines together,put the barbie on and have a beer.

I've often thought about doing this, but have always worried about getting some sand in the engine, are they stripped and rebuilt afterwards, or just run as they are, I was thinking of doing the same thing but with soda, I believe it washes away with water.

As long as you have all holes sealed theres no reason as to why sand should get into the engine.
A mate of mine has been telling me about his soda blast set up,which does sound cool. He says that its water soluble and enviromentally friendly. Im not that bothered about such things myself,but im an idiot.
Ive a blast cabinet myself,but not big enough to squeeze an engine in,but might try some soda myself? Ive a seperate stand alone blast (errmmm..)(not sure what its called?)thing,so could set up a seperate plastic blast cabinet to try? I was thinking about a cheap (£20-30)plastic greenhouse thing to use as an outdoor blast cabinet.
