GS1000 thread repair
The threads are worn where the top of the rear suspension bolts to the frame on my 1979 GS1000E.
Anyone else had this and how is it best repaired? Should I cut a new thread with a die set??
And if so what size???
Any advice much appreciated.
Cheers.

I'd make it all one size smaller. Did so in the past with no probs.

You could take it down a size carefully then use a Time -Sert reversed so it threads over the newly threaded portion and stays at 10mm (IIRC) on the shaft. I am pretty sure an 8mm metric timesert has an outer thread of 10mm
