1360 EFE uses busa pistons
the appeal of this is the fact i can retain a stock degree of aircooling to the barrel-not important on a dragbike-but vital on a landspeed machine , where you can be running WFO for 5 miles or more .
also attractive is the myriad choice of pistons available-pretty much second to none.
all i know at the moment is an aussie dude pressed some GSXR [1127?] liners into a EFE muff [the finned part of the barrel that holds the liners] whopped a set of busa slugs in there , decked it and then loads of aus racers were doing it-
it would seem the deck height has to be adjusted -60-.80thou" , and this would obviously set the comp ratio combined with the crown type of the piston.the busa pins are 20mm-so thats an efe crank or one off pistons for an ET crank.
i have a built 1500 ET but it,s a drag motor , so im interested in this as a better way to keep my snorter cool-
who knows more?

BBK,
My race teamate Darrell Nicholas ( NHRA World record holding SVO turbocharged Mustang) is a Warehouse Distributor for Wiseco pistons. We can get any custom made pistions for an extremely good price.
Cheers,
SSR

Hi Mate,
I don't know him personally, but have some Mates in California who do. I really feel bad that I couldn't hook up with you at the salt flats, but next time I will be there to watch you set a new World record.
I was also susprised to find out that Wiseco does custom pistons. My Mate Darrell has a very good hook-up with them, I guess it pays off to win the NHRA 'Race Engine Builder Of The Year' award. Darrell has an incredible collection of vehicles ( he is the BBK of Arizona ) 8-
Presently he has a Honda ATC 3 wheeler with at 1000cc Yoshimura Honda 750 engine, 1960 Falcon Fuel Altered, 1986 Mustang SVO NHRA L/ Stock, 1966 Ford F-350 Duelie with an aluminum head with 3 duces big block Ford, 1966 Ford Fairlane big block Ford, 1966 Shelby Mustang GT 350, Jeep CJ 5 with a stroked 427 Ford, 1980 Jeep ( installing a 351 Ford Cleveland in it), 1976 Corvette with a 406 cu.in small block Chevy, (2) 1967 Ford T-Birds.
In addition he has a 5000 sq.ft fully equipped Machine Shop for his personal use, he now only does machine work for himself (not for public use), but for me and another one of our race Mates. I am very fortunate to have become one of his Mates. He and I are palnning to race his Mustang and my EFE a many NHRA National and Divisional races as we can in 2013.
As soon as you send the piston drawings we can have Wiseco start working on them for you. By the way the next time you make it back to Phoenix you have a meal of some real 'Chicken Fried Steak' waiting for you.
Cheers,
SSR
