Re: Slingshot wheel into EFE standard arm
I run a 5.5 rim in my efe I didnt fit it so not sure what was involved with it but I run 170 tyres normally avon as they seem easiest to get , I use a 3/8thsoffset sprocket with 530 chain and have no problems with it, , when I get the chance i will take a photo and post it

I'm going to try using a GPZ750A1 front sprocket as it's got the same splines and approx 10mm offset, also it's a 630 pitch too. Yes I am using an EFE engine.
I'm following Captain Chaos's guide and in the process of having a caliper hanger made and the EFE hub machined down.
Cant wait to get it done. Am getting impatient to give Fatty a spanking!!!

I went for a Pirelli Angel ST 170/60/17 and it was spot on 170mm. A good 7mm clearance each side. One other thing to consider with this conversion that I dont recall seeing anywhere is that if you're using standard EFE footrests, the back of the footrest where it bolts to the hanger and gear change needs to be cut down approx 10mm and shorter bolts used because the chain hits otherwise. I also used an off the shelf GPZ750A1 front sprocket for the offset and it appears to be spot on. The drawings Captain Chaos posted are also spot on. Thanks again Captain. I had a caliper hanger made locally and the sprocket carrier machined down for £60. GSXR1100K front end was a bolt in job.

Thanx for these informations, Cuds ...
btw ... did you remove material from the arm or is it still original ?
I´ve got 2 swingarms, one is prepared for 180, the other is original.
I think without modification it will be easier to legalice the fatter rear wheel here in Austria ...

Hi Stonarocka. The swingarm is completly standard. I believe to fit a 180 tyre you have to remove about 50mm of the gusseting in the arm. I didn't want to do that really. A 170 tyre is fine by me, a big step up over the 130 standard size that was fitted...

I don´t know if my wheels are really Slingshots ... perhaps they are from a "W" , but sure GSXR 1100.
With a 2mm spacer on the left side there are 17mm left for the caliper hanger. To file down a Bandit one doesn´t work , so I get one manufactured.
More expensive but the only way ...
Sprocket carrier EF, disc Bandit , caliper GSX-F
