RS36's again
Stripped tops and bottoms, released seized accelerator pump spindle, but now I have a problem. The slides, when operated from the linkage, will not lift. I can see a very slight movement on each cutaway, so I know the slides themselves are not seized. On opening (or...trying to open the slides), there's a distinct stop, as if the operating rod or something is hitting an obstacle. I can't see anything obvious that's causing it! As I've not had anything to do with this type of carb, I'm a bit in the dark! So, to all you lads running flatties, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mikuni RS carbs are a pretty basic and straightforward design I think.. I'd like to help, but it's impossible to tell what's going on with your set without having them in my hands.. all I can say is try not to force anything but look for the spot where parts are apparently seem to be snagging.. why not loosen the bolts on the levers so you can operate the shaft separately from the slides and perhaps pinpoint the fault?
on the other hand.. I do need some RS36 spares, so I'd better not be to helpful and hope you'll end up selling the carbs on this site..

These carbs were fitted to a Harris I bought a while ago. The guy I bought it off never had it running. I'll have a tinker, and let you know.

The problem was the #1 slide.
Now I know what it was (is), I'll get busy!

Just an up-date.
After removing the #1 carb from the rack (much easier to work on), the slide came out with a bit of persuasion. The problem? No horror stories, thank God! The slide needle was totally gummed up in the main jet. I don't know how, because I ran YCC 'thru them while they were on the bike! The slight movement in the slide, was the play between the slid3e and the needle. Working perfectly now!
