should I buy it
Hi folks. Just been to see a GS1000E project. Cant decide
Good bits:
Brakes all have stainless pistons.
Forks hard chromed
The chap owned it for 22 years.
Still turns over.
Frame has nice powder coat.
bad bits:
Has ET body work on it. (Frame not modded)
No seat (anyone got one)
has a GS1000 tank not flutted and a bit beaten. Should a T plate gs1000e have have a flutted tank.
wrong front mudguard
Not run for 17 years.
Starting price is £650. What do you all think?
Cant decide. A very nice gs1000e at the minute might get 2k. A s nearer 3k. I guess id need to spend at least a £1000 making this one right.

for 650 you cant really loose money , the frames a couple of hundred and assuming the engines not had it then thats 4-500 quid , but then is it a breaker or something to bung back together with whats around or can be made to fit . It`s so easy to think ill just buy this and ..... and before you know it you are 1500 into it
so for me its if you have the cash spare , the space and any inclination
