Buying bikes off ebay unseen
Does anyone else have bad experiences when buying a bike unseen from ebay?
I previously bought a kat off ebay a number of years ago, described as a runner, which looked great in the photos, but when it arrived, needed a lot of work just to get it ridable. It was a dangerous lash up,, the monoshock mounts looked like nothing you have ever seen before, pigeon shit welding everywhere, the footrest and its welded on (i sue the term in its loosest sense) bracket came off when my knee touched it as i pushed it into the garage. Oh and the stator was fried, parts missing ,no starter motor, no oil in the engine at all etc. etc
Complained through ebay, but because an amount of time had lapsed from sale to delivery to complaint they would do nothing about it, and to be honest werent interested.
i wont go on but it certainly put me off buying a complete bike from the bay, and i felt cheated. The only thing stopping me from taking it back and wrapping the loosely fitted exhaust around the owners head was the fact that he was in south of england and i was in the north of Sscotland.
I know the score with "buyer beware" ansd other such caveats, and realaise tha\t idealy i should have seen it first, and maybe i was unlucky, but surely i am not alone.
Any other horror stories

Thats because all the cheap ones are allways long way away.....
if a bike realy interests me i will go and look 1st........i,d rather waste £50 in fuel than a lot more on a lemon.......
I,ve never had a problem selling a bike on there though....
AND i would allways collect in person.....no worky bike as discribed ...no wonga....
