So here is a short story about the beginning of my GSX1100EFTurbo project.

Grabbed this one in the well known internet auction house.

Very bad condition, but complete with low milage.

After collecting some parts and conversion to conventional mono shock it looked like this.

Front end is TL1000S, wheels too.

Back end is a JMC swingarm with Honda SC57 mono shock.

Exhaust is yoshimura, headers are something for gsxr1100w, that I modified.

After this stage I spend less time on it, because of my Harris Mag4 I bought meanwhile.

All the time I thought about turboing it, started collecting some parts, but didn't get, what I was looking for.

Some weeks ago I found somebody who sells me a complete Mr. Turbo kit, that he had less kilometers on a GSX1100.

Now I'm struggling, what to do with the engine.

It has low milage, cams are in perfect condition, compression is fine, so why breakin' it?!?!

I'm new to the Turbo themes, several guys told me several opinions about what to do.

The guy I got the kit from said, that for a first startup I would have to do nothing with the engine, under 0,5bar (0,7psi) boost.
I do not have to lower compression, do not have to use heavy duty studs and nuts for the head and barrels.

Only thing I will do is raisin' oil pressure by using other oilpump gears.

Any advice from the guys here that are familiar with draw thru turbo kits on ACS?

Thanks in advance.

Hi great pics and thread im doing a similar thing. If you keep the pressure right down i guess it will be ok. Im going to make my motor much stronger incase i get board of low boost. Im a strong believer of a good strong bottom end.
Dont know if your aware but debben do two base spacer plates. Ii did the maths with stock efe pistons (which will work fine as forged) 1.6mm spacer gives a 8.5:1 and the 1mm is 9.something. notes are at work.
Remember if you go above 150hp youll need straightcuts. If u keep it below that i guess you'll be fine. 1230 na efes can pump out upto 140hp and they're ok on helicoil gears. Be interesting to watch ur thread

Didn't know that the helical gear will make problems above 150 hp. Was of the opinion that the gearing is good for 200hp.

First I only want to get the system running. After that I would like to increase power. My goal is something at 250 hp not more.

I got a copper head gasket with the kit. It's a little bit thicker than 1mm, it lowers the compression ration under 9:1.

But to get in touch with all the turbo things, I would like to keep the engine untouched first.

You can get away with Helical Gears up to a point... the problem is that Boost is addictive "bit like drugs  "

and say you will start of with 160Bhp at 5 or 6 PSI....Then when you get used to the rush that gives you..

....its lets try a bit more...then a bit more yada yada.....

So if you start with good basics its a lot easier in the long run....

So what straitcuts gears are to use in case of? Are there any suzuki parts, or is all aftermarket?
