Took all four plugs out and they were sooted to hell. Put a new set in and it idled better. If it was normal carbs id say the transittion from idle jets to primary was totally wrong. You have to slip the clutch to pull away. But once on primary its totally awesome. Aint checked boost yet. Suspect it aint much. But its a total loon. Just did ten miles and had to keep telling myself its a new motor. 120 appeared really quick. (On the drag strip of course) the noise was totally addictive. The acceleration between gears is out standing. I was screaming with laughter in my crash hat. The engine is superb.
Think im going to see Dave to stick a HSR42 on. Cant be doing with the low speed hesitation.

Cheers Bobster, its the best handling 80s bike ive ridden.
Hi folks. Decided to buy a HSR42 for my Kat. Looking at getting it from Allens. They also do a manifold for it to mount to the rayjay. Are hsr carbs twin cable? Anyone know roughly what its likely to cost?
Also ive heard of a HSR42 that has a larger float bowl? Do i need one ?
Cheers

Good carbs the HSR42's, yes you will need the one with the bigger float needle bowl, for the gravity fed fuel set up, if your not running a fuel pump. (small one for fuel pump). Im running the HSR45 .Brilliant on my big block motor. You will definitely need the push pull throttle cables set up, or it wont shut the slide correctly. Wait till you hear how crisp & clean my kat revs, you will be very surprised.
. Most people are when they hear it, its not at all like the old turbo bikes... rough till they get going a bit..
