F*** F*** F***
I spotted a turbo set up for sale in the US yesterday, which had a buy it now price and an ok price for postage to the uk. The seller asked before confirming that you are buying, mail me to confirm postage. I did this and waited and waited, only to see the seller has sold the turbo set up. F***!!!!
If Id managed to buy it,all I would have needed for a low boost set up would have been oil lines and a boost gauge! Bugger! Back to the drawing board.

Unlucky?
The story of my life.
Not to worry, ive 99% of the bits needed to crack on with the build,it'll just have to be naturally aspirated,as boring as that seems.
Ive mislpaced things like wheel spacers,so need to make some, once done,it shouldnt take long to have a rolling chassis.
Im getting a new blast cabinet for the workshop tomorrow, depending on the shopping queues, some paint supplies and then I might have something worth posting.

It seems like the waste of a GSX engine to just fit carbs and a pipe.
Ive been to the paint shop to buy supplies todoay,so have come back with etch primer,2k high build,2k clear coat, base coats, activator, paint strainers, tac clothes....etc etc.
Temperature permitting in the workshop,im going to set up a production line, and do probably 6 bikes worth of panels in primer to make ready for the nice bits, and then bike set by bike set get them knocked out for their owners. A set of gsx panels will be included, but probably at the back of the list.
I'll then be pestering people with black and red original paint to take some measurements for me.
Ive 3 tanks,2 of which have been smoothed to get rid of the rubber bits at the back, which I never liked years ago. Now im not sure if i want to restore them back to original or not? One tank still has the fittings and is unsmoothed, but has a big dent in the rear, which will involve more work at the moment than what ive time to do. I dont have any tank rubbers,so I can probably see what will happen. Smoothed out will stay...

Ive a 25 quid mask from screwfix, which is normally in the rubbish pile on the floor most of the time when I spray,BUT,I do have a proper industrial fume extraction system. I know its probably stupid, but I can spray with the extractor on and never suffer any problems with any clouds of paint in the air, which is normal without an extractor. I used to spray in my workshop, and everything used to get covered in dust/overspray,but I decided a while back to get some timber, and some plasterboard, and built a seperate area, which means now in theory,i could spray something, return to the workshop and mess on with other stuff without fumes.
I was at my paint suppliers the other day talking shite about paint. I was saying Ive just bought some infra red heater things and I was ordering a new waterbased spraygun to try out waterbased paint (
). The conversation turned to how years ago celly paint was coming off the market, and 2k was a new thing. The 1st thing I painted with 2k,was as you said, hold your breath and dash in,spray, dash out!
Im more relaxed now! However, again years back,a mate built a bike, which I sprayed in a fairly confined space one sunday afternoon. I had a terrible nights sleep, and in the morning the phone rang. Hello, said my mate, are you ok? The cyanide in the 2k must have frazzled our brains that day,so do please be careful!
A good mate of mine used to spray for a living and has a air fed mask, its great for doing cars, but to much of a hassle for painting a sidepanel or mudguard.

A pic or two of the new sprocket cover in the milling machine. Ive got to admit,i did no planning, drawing etc,I just chucked on the bed of the machine and then made a start. Not really the best way to do things.
And a pic of a start of some yokes for my mk2 efe project.

More soon when i return to the shed.
