My EFE make over.
Re: My EFE make over.
turbo exhaust??? maybe
"hoepfully" will get some time to myself over the winter and get a chance to refresh the EF, got a 2nd set of bodywork and needs the frame stoved, motor stripped & checked (nowt wrong just nosey and it uses a little oil) - we'll see come spring as my lad is nearly 10 and hassled this year about going out / other one is a single seat so will have to sort this in some form and have a bimble about

Tonight I put my hands on some new 316L stainless bends, with the advice and encouragement from my chop building mate Robbie,"make a new exhaust". Recently,Ive had a bash at doing a couple of exhausts, and have a great tip to show when i make a start. It'll have you thinking about getting the welder out.

for the inlet manifold.

Some pipes under construction, somewhere in amongst all the stuff going on.

Incidentally for the local people,I buy my stainless bends from the Pipeline centre based just off the A19 (silverlink area),with the 1.5inch pre made bends costing only a fiver a piece. The t-piece ones are slightly cheaper. In plain economics it means that you could make a simple set of turbo headers for 20 quid, plus argon gas and some time.

Youd need a turbo flange, but they are cheap too. It makes you think about turbo charging!!

Ive both MIG and ACDC TIG. When i make a start I'll do some pics showing how i do things, whether people think good or bad.
Ive found that mig works a lot quicker for my pipe work, but the welds are a little harder to grind down, but, ive a new toy, which helps me 10000% and will hopefully make others think about trying pipe work for themselves,if they have the gear to do it. (cheap mig set, angle grinder,argon...). Suprisingly, machine mart are the best for pricing on stainless mig wire.

Give it a try. The cheapest way to do it is buy a disposable bottle of argon /a regulator and stainless wire from Machine mart. It amazes me,but they seem the cheapest for the bits, even cheaper than egay!
