My new turbo Kat project
Re: My new turbo Kat project
Got these for the Kat, might use the alloy ones that are on my efe at the minute. I'm planning on internal oil feed to the cams I think

Hi FBJ... are they brake line hoses you are using for the top end oil feed..??... I ran some for a few years. I was a bit worried that the small bore size might restrict the oil flow required to the top end, but they did the job right enough. When i inspected my top end it was all ok. Although i have gone bigger now....Herrr hem
I can highly recommend the Mikuni HSR42mm carb, over the S&S for road use..(if you arnt going too big on the cc's size). so easy to use & set up.. very crisp on the throttle... my bike runs a HSR45mm.. excellent
.
Good luck with the project...All the best Deanotek.

Hello Deano, thanks for the heads up and tips. not sure what cc to go yet, my mate races a efe, had stock pistons for years as they're forged. he's upto 1260 now, his is solely a drag bike, with the draw thru and 1260 he was at 284 hp. he is going blow thru now hence I bought his old draw thru kit,
I reckon I will run a HSR42, heard good things about them.
I have some nice billet cam to cam link things that may have a bigger id, if not I will use your recomendation
What compression ratio are you running? and does the starter cope ok?
Cheers FBJ

Im running 83mm 8.5:1 MTC turbo pistons, with teflon buttons....supplied by Roger Upperton. Run an efe starter motor & idler gear, they spin the motor over faster, my old kat starter used to tow its bollocks off with the big displacement.

Just been to collect my turbo, headers and all relevant bolt on bits. I intend to use heavy duty studs and nuts. Will i have to use external oil feed if i do? Any recommendations for who to use to supply straight cut gears? An fit them. Will use a high flow oil pump. Stock pistons with a spacer plate.
