My EFE make over.
Re: My EFE make over.
When i got out of bed today,I thought f*** every body elses stuff,Im doing some work for me today!
I have put a spare front end in the frame for mock up,but the forks Im using (with a tyre fitted!)are about the same length as these with no tyre. This is the stance Im going with, long and very low. I did a quick measure up,and ive about 5 inches from the bottom engine frame rail to the ground. that sounds about right to me!

As a comparison, its going to have more ground clearance than this piece of shite!

I love GSX's.

My own GSX had 6 inches between floor and bottom rail. Speed humps were interesting !!

Thank you for the comments.
The black chop needs a couple of bits and pieces to finish, and then will be looking for a new home.
Ive 2 more of the things....
i spent last summer messing with chops, but today Ive realised my vocation with bikes. Muscle bikes! Not streetfighters, but pure big old heavy
duty bikes for men!
Ive plans for another EFE and then a turbo 1200 Yam (cringes from the back..). Getting shot of the chops should help finance some split rims and a ride in ride out turbo from the fave turbo man,FBM!
A year and a lot of money wasted on bikes I dont even like. The lesson learned, stick with what you really love,GSX's!
I could have had them built by now if not for chops!

Im off to look in the alloy cupboard to see if I can find some suitable sheet for making new engine mounts.
Maybe also some alloy for a lock up clutch cover too.

A start has been made on engine mounts.
I started off well, with good intentions, but soon got the angle grinder out. I had thought about doing proper radius's on the rotary table, but became lazy.

The holes are accurate.

I put the finishing touches to some windowed covers as well. These are so gay. Luckily, they are for a Yam fz1,not a proper bike.

The yam has a clutch activating arm thing that goes down the centre of the clutch case,so you cant remove all the opening to actually see the clutch when you open it up to fit the windowed cover. stupid really.
I hate them. However,I do like lock up clutch cover's,so will make one.

Thank you,but I wouldnt agree.
The yam covers were an absolute ball ache of a job.
Anyway,back to much better stuff.
7x17 split rim???

Id need to machine up some bits to make it fit,but I like the thought of it,but do I need the extra work? Hmm...I need to just keep on looking at it and thinking it out? I found a fat 3 spoke wheel in my spares dept before that is very light,so that may go in?

Incidentally, when the bike eventually comes together,Im running the wheel as far back in the swingarm as possible. I hate seeing drag style arms with the wheels in the forward position. They look crap to me.
I like the tyre to hang out the back. The last time I had one like this, the numberplate seemed to fall off, after rubbing the tyre.

If things go to plan today,I might do the wiring. Get the jobs done Im not keen on.
